YieldGard®
VT for Better Corn Rootworm Control
While cool, wet conditions have delayed planting in some areas,
Monsanto’s newest corn technology, YieldGard™ VT, available from Midwest Seed Genetics,
can help protect against the uncertainty of the weather by providing growers with
greater consistency and improved in-plant insect protection than previous corn rootworm
control products. This is especially true early in the season when the corn plant
is most susceptible to rootworm feeding.

Midwest Seed Offers More Options,
Tools, Value
This year is one for the record
books. Midwest Seed Genetics has
experienced the kind of growth and
increased resources that most seed
companies only dream about. Along
with our parent company, Channel
Bio, we became a cornerstone of
American Seeds, Inc. (ASI). A highly
unique seed enterprise, ASI provides
us with access to the world’s
largest germplasm base, breeding
programs and testing systems. In
just a few short months, this
venture is proving to be a
tremendous benefit for our
customers.
Midwest Seed customers have more
options than ever before – more of
the elite products in
all maturity ranges, more biotech
traits, and more informational tools
to help increase prof t margins.
This revolutionary venture also
brought BioFutureSM to the
forefront. BioFuture, the brainchild
of Channel’s co-founders Don and
Aline Funk, brings the highest
quality, most technologically
advanced seed products to the farm …
faster than ever before. BioFuture
is designed to evaluate scientific
discoveries, cutting edge
technologies and processes that
directly result in new living
plants. You’ll read more about the
exclusive BioFuture Experience
elsewhere in this newsletter.

Seed and Wilson Combine Resources
Also this year, we have combined our
resources with those of our sister
company, Wilson Seeds, Inc. Wilson
Seeds had a tremendous year, as
measured by percentage growth in
corn sales. As we continually look
for more opportunities to wisely
spend our customers’ money, we have
investigated how to increase the
efficiencies of our sales teams and
our sales managers. By combining our
talents and resources, we are better
equipped to provide you with the
best products, the best performance
and the best tools to help increase
your profit margins.
As a direct result of these two
brands working together, we have
vastly increased our product lineup
– to the tune of 30 percent more
offerings for corn and soybean
growers! These choices translate
into more opportunities for growers
to maximize their profits and
minimize their risks. We now have
more genetic diversity and trait
selections in all maturity ranges
than most seed companies. That’s
quite a feat for a company that sold
its fi rst bag of corn seed less
than 20 years ago!
To maintain our customer-driven
focus, we have organized a solid
team of leaders who will continue
listening to your needs and
implementing improved services for
you. An example is our emphasis on
more regionalized sales teams –
highly skilled seedsmen and women
who share increased knowledge of
local cropping needs and serve as a
more immediate contact to help
answer your important questions.
We understand that our advice,
recommendations and products all
have a direct impact on our
customers’ standards of living. Our
products’ performance enables you to
pay for your farms, send your
children to college and save for
retirement. We take this
responsibility very seriously, and
will continue working hard to bring
our customers only the best seed
products available.
Our existence is built on providing
you with the right products and the
right information, so you can make
the right decision for your
operation. By staying true to our
mission of becoming “The American
farmers’ most trusted seed source,”
Midwest Seed Genetics and Wilson
Seeds remain totally committed to
bringing added value to your farm –
both today and in the future.
